The Mysterious Young Man

Many people line the throne room, silently waiting. The silent is broken by
the arrival of six old men in long, flowing robes. The crowd parts, and stays parted
as the men approach the throne. They are followed by another man, this slightly
younger than the others, as his green hair as not yet turned white. He carries
a golden crown in both hands, and slowly steps onto the dais, then turns
back towards the crowd.

"I welcome you, all you, to this momentous event. Today, we crown the king of
Unova, the heir to the Ancient Heroes of Truth and Ideals."

The crowd cheers, but quickly falls silent as another figure approaches the throne, this one much younger, around 18, with long, green hair, and flowing white robes. The crowd remains dead silent as he passes, but the man pays them no notice as he seats himself on the golden throne, and the older green haired man places the golden crown on his head. The crowd finally starts to cheer as the king steps
forward. On this day, the first of the Heroes has returned.

Sometime Later:


*Lumyr sits on bench inside Unova's Pokemon Expert, Professor Juniper's,
Laboratory, the sun shining though large, open windows. He's in a small room off
the main hall, and good thing too, as it's a complete madhouse outside. Juniper
hadn't expected him till 9 o'clock, and thus hadn't been prepared for his arrival.
Aids run back and forth across the entrance, carrying stacks of papers, or pushing
carts*

Juniper:<Wait till they're done eating, then being them in. You, bring in the second cart now!>

*An Aid pushes a large cart into the room, then leaves it next to the door. Lumyr is
unable to see what is on top. The chaos continues, but slowly starts to die off. In the distance, faint Pokemon cries can be heard, allow with crashes as things are knocked over*

*The Kanto-Johto Government's Boat-Plane flies through the clear blue sea, far above the ocean.
It's rather nice and spacious inside, unlike a normal passenger plane. However,
that doesn't really help when you've been flying for over 18 hours, as Taegan
Harvey has been. From Goldenrod City to the Indigo Plateau, to the Celadon City Inter-Regional Airport, and thenthe last 12 hours in route to the Unova Region for a Battle Exhibition with the
Unova's Elite Four. Taegan is sitting in a window seat beside the Johto Ambassador,
a gray haired woman of about 50. Behind him, Johto's Professor Elm, sits, reading over files. The Kanto Ambassador and Kanto's Professor Oak sit across the isle. Everyone else are career diplomats or others of the like*

Oak:<Looks like we are on schedule. According to the pilot, we should be entering final descent soon.>

Elm:<What? Already? I need to get my stuff together!>

*Elm drops his research papers everywhere, some landing on Taegan and the Johto Ambassador*

*Outside, it's a sunny day in Nuvema Town. Pidove fly in the sky, Lillipup run across the street, and Purrloin steal unsuspecting people's stuff. Amanda walks down the street, followed by her Umbreon, Kurui, following close behind. She's heading to deliver a package from Professor Birch, Hoenn's Pokemon Professor. She's about 15 minutes away*

Amanda:<Hanging in there Kurui?>

Kurui:<Umbre!>

*Tae chuckles and picks up Elm's papers, handing them to him.*

Taegan: <Here you go, Professor.>

*He then stares up and down the isle for a couple of minutes before speaking to Oak.*

Taegan: <Professor Oak, I've been meaning to ask, how is Bayleef doing?>

*Lumyr lets out a sigh.*

Lumyr: [Total chaos here today... Maybe I shouldn't have left in such a rush?]

Oak:<Your Bayleef's doing just wonderful. She made a new friend last week, a handsome male Bayleef.>

*Oak chuckles. Suddenly, the pilot comes on over the intercom*

Pilot:<Attention, we are now in our final descent to Nuvema Harbor. Please remain seated for the remained of the flight.>

*Elm, who was up gathering papers, returns to his seat, but accidentally drops them all of the Johto Ambassador. She picks them up and shoves them back into his hands, obviously annoyed*

Elm:<Very....very sorry Ambassador Shori.>

*As the Chaos starts to die, another Aid enters the room, carrying a tray with a bowl of cut up Pecha Berries, and a glass of water, which he sits of the bench beside Lumyr*

Aid:<I'm sorry for the wait. We're just waiting for the starters to finish eating. I'm sure they'll be here in the next ten minutes.>

*The Aid exits the room, leaving the food behind. Excitement can be felt in the air, as Aids run in and out of the room, leaving objects on the cart by the door. Juniper can be heard in the distance*

Juniper:<NO! BAD! No biting each other! There's enough food for every-NO! No biting me ether.>

*Outside, Amanda and Kurui stand at a crossroads*

Amanda:<Which way?>

*Kurui sniffs at the air, then races off towards the right. Amanda follows her*

Kurui:<Umbreon! Umbe!>

*Lumyr eats some berries and takes a drink of water, waiting still.*

*Tae opens his hand to stare at a Friend Ball he's holding.*

Taegan: [Sorry, Pachirisu. We're almost there.]

*The chaos has completely died a few minutes before. During the time, a Trainer had arrived to talk with Professor Juniper, which is what's causing the final hold up. However, an Umbreon, has wandered into the room. As it's a Pokemon not really found in the wild in Unova, Lumyr may not even who it's name, but he can assume that it belongs to the trainer the just arrived*

Umbreon:<Umbre?>

*She approaches him and stares up at Lumyr*

*The boat-plane glides down and lands in the water, skating up to the dock. Everyone's happy that their journey has almost come to a close, and are looking forward to their hotel rooms. Shori closes the folder she was reading, and prepares to get of the plane. Everyone else around the plane does the same*

Elm:<Has anyone seen the 8th page of my report on Pokemon eggs?>

*Taegan might realize that it's between his back and the chair he's sitting on*

Lumyr: <Oh. Hello... I don't think I've seen one of you before. Want some food?>

*Taegan also stands up to leave, noticing the page and widening his eyes.*

Taegan: [When did it...?]

*He chuckles to himself and takes the page to Elm.*

Taegan: <I found it, Professor.>

Elm:<Thank-Thank you Lord Taegan!>

*Elm takes the page and puts it in the report and walks out of the boat-plane's door. After Ambassador Shori stands up and walks out of the isle, Taegan is able to head out the door himself. However, Oak is still gathering his things*

Oak:<Head on out, I'll just be a moment.>

*Umbreon stares up at him, then runs out the door. Then, Professor Juniper, followed by a red-haired trainer pushing a cart with 3 pokeballs on top, enter the room. Umbreon also re-enters the room, following her assumed trainer*

Juniper:<Lumyr! Very sorry for the wait, we weren't expecting you this early.>

*Juniper holds out her hand*

Juniper:<I'm Professor Juniper, very nice to meet you!>

*Lumyr stands up and shakes her hand*

Lumyr: <The pleasure is all mine.>

*He looks at the Pokeballs*

Lumyr: <So, which ones are in there?>

*Tae nods to Oak and heads out of the vehicle.*

*The unknown Trainer smiles*

???:<You don't know what are Unova's Starter Pokemon are? Silly boy.>

Juniper:<Amanda, be nice.>

*Juniper turns back to Lumyr*

Juniper:<In one of these pokeballs, sits your future partner. Choose carefully, as it will determine your futures a Pokemon Trainer.>

*Juniper presses a button of the side of the cart, and the glass casing over the Pokeballs recedes back into the cart*

Juniper:<Shall I bring them out, or would you like to?>

*Outside, there's a mess of reporters and other people bring held back by uniformed Police officers. On the road by the dock, sit black, tinted window Government issued cars. As people exit the plane, offices escort them into one of the cars. Two officers approach Taegan*

Officer:<Excuse me, Lord Taegan, if you could please follow us?>

Taegan: <Oh, hum, sure.>

*Tae turns to smile and wave cheerfully at the crowd before following after the officers.*

Lumyr: < Ah, it doesn't matter. You can do it.>

Amanda:<Weirdo.>

Juniper:<AMANDA!>

Amanda:<Fine.>

*Juniper grabs all three Pokeballs and tosses them into the air*

Juniper:<Come on out! OSHAWOTT! TEPIG! SNIVY!>

*All three pokeballs open to reveal the three Unova Starters. They blink in the light then jump on Lumyr, Tepig chewing on his foot, Oshawott pulling on his pant leg, and Snivy jumping on his lap*

Juniper:<BAD!>

*The officers lead him to one of the cars, with Elm and the Johto Ambassador inside. Once Oak enters the car in front of the one Taegan's in, the convey starts to move into the main area of Nuvema Town. Though the window, he can see people staring and pointing at the procession of government vehicles. He can also see various Unova pokemon around, including Lillipups, and Watchogs.

Lumyr: <Umm... I didn't think they would be so... Wild.>

*Taegan watches the Pokémon.*

Taegan: <It's been a while since I've been here...> [Perhaps I could take some time to battle a few trainers, later.]

Amanda:<They are a little wild. And small.....>

*Juniper sighs*

Juniper:<Well you see Lumyr, I already gave out the Starters this year. But when I heard that you were coming...I had to order a another set from the Breeder, andI didn't really get a chance to train these ones yet.>

*Tepig sets his shoe on fire, while Snivy and Oshawott fight over his lap*

Oshawott:<OSHA WOTT!>

Snivy:<SNI SNI!>

Elm:<All this security is rather odd....>

Shori:<Apparently, it's because of him.>

*She gestures at Taegan*

Shori:<Someone was making threats against him. Or some group. That's all I've been told.>

*He sighs and dumps the rest of the water he has on his shoe.*

Lumyr: <Well, I'll take what I can get.>

Taegan: <Threats? Against me? Why didn't anyone tell me this?>

Shori:<We were going to have an official debriefing at the hotel. Anyway, I do not have all the details at this point. But according to sources, a group of people have been targeting Trainers and Trainer related groups. The Ranger Union received information that pointed to you being the next target, and yesterday, an anonymous group hacked into a government broadcast threatening to teach Unova a lesson today.>

Elm:<So..they're not directly against Lord Taegan? You'd be a much more likely target then.>

Shori:<They said they were going to kill the "False Prince". Who does that sound like to you?>

*Juniper grabs Tepig, Oshawott, and Snivy*

Juniper:<Stop! Now Lumyr, it is time to choose.>

*Juniper puts the starters down on top of the cart. They sit still for once*

Juniper:<Snivy, the grass type. Tepig, the fire type. Or Oshawott, the water type.>

*Everyone stares at Lumyr*

Lumyr: <I'll pick...>

*He looks up and down them carefully.*

Lumyr: <...Oshawott.>

*Tae chuckles awkwardly and shrugs.*

Taegan: <I don't need protection. Maybe they should focus on trying to find these people. What do we know about them?>

Shori:<Nothing other then the fact they hate trainers. They may also have been behind the theft of a famous fossil from Nacrene Museum.>

Elm:<So...Are we sending Lord Taegan back to the Indigo Plateau?>

Shori:<It will depend how today goes.>

*Oshawott junps up and hugs Lumyr*

Oshawott:<Oshawott! Osha-Osha!>

*The other starters looks kinda sad, but Juniper quickly hugs them*

Juniper:<Your partners are coming soon, don't worry.>

*Juniper picks up Oshawott's Pokeball, and it hands to Lumyr, along with a green Pokedex*

Juniper:<Here is Oshawott's Pokeball, and your Pokedex. A Pokedex is a high-tech device used to helpidentify Pokemon and their attacks.>
